All of these heavy-duty hammers are forged with American made, high carbon steel and have polished striking faces with rust resistant black finish on smooth ground sides. All striking faces and ends of peins on blacksmith hammers are beveled to minimize chipping. American hickory handles are Sure-Lock® wedged in their tapered eye. Fiberglass handles are fitted with high-impact rubber overstrike shields in the critical neck area. Patented hollow core handle and slip-resistant, cushioned PVC grip absorbs shock. Fiberglass handles are epoxy sealed.
